Controller mayhem erupts as we kick start the new month. May the 4th was with you, but May the 5th brings us emperors of groove. Dylan Griffin has embarked on a long hike up to Sydney from Melbourne ready take Watson’s EQ by storm with his sonically subby grooves. Leaves will not be the only thing dropping, deep and dirty dance floor bombs are all set for landing as we roll into the final month of Autumn.

With Dylan taking the cake for our first endeavour of May, the Melburnian is joined by some of our dear friends embarking on a journey. The RaW boys are back in business, taking a step away from their raging rave after hours haven, and trad-en it in to slide us through the sunset slot in the Watson's EQ courtyard. They’ve dished up some fine platters in the past and have prepared a full discourse consisting of equal parts Deep, Dark, & Dirty to ensure your legs don't hurty before the main sauce. 

Ross Mvnro comes down from the Newest of Castles, the producer wizkid has been baking away, and has brought down some of his freshest creations to grace your ears just before sunset. Like Ross, Splak! Is just a hop, skip and a jump away in Newcastle. Splak joins us in the earliest of hours to make his daybut and open things up in the courtyard.

By Night see’s the infamous Ritmiq take control as the clock strikes midnight. Carousel’s red abyss awaits his return, as each entry is better than the last, proving time and time again that his residency is well deserved. With recent endeavours up to Cairns last long weekend with Alexia Glensy, Ritmiq most certainly means business. 

As the treacherous travels continue, Myndgame takes a stroll up north with Wollongong being left behind. His appearances recently speak volumes as he steps into Carousel to close out the night. Hammy J makes his Carousel debut but returns for the open. His ear for groove will absolutely get you in the mood for a big night ahead of one-two steps.

A tradition as old as time, on the Sunday where we give our mothers a little bit of extra loving, we invite our good friends at WeLove to head on down and take control of the full 8 hours of SASH By Day at Watson’s EQ.

They’re settling in with a motley crew of the usual suspects. Taking the top honours and filling out the fixings on this sandwich of love, the bossman Nick Reverse, sits between André Müller on the close and a deep and warm Soop taking us through the sunset session. Corey Kennedy makes his SASH By Day-but, opening things up with some deeper cuts and slower struts for the early afternoon.

By Night we receive a delight, welcoming one of the UK’s funkiest phenoms, Velvet Velour. 

In the pulsating realm of house music, Velvet Velour reigns supreme, his sonic escapades gracing the halls of revered labels like Butter Side Up, Welt Discos, and Nuances De Nuit. With melodies that shimmer like candy under disco lights, rhythms that dance with an infectious swing, and basslines that bounce with an irresistible energy, he paints a kaleidoscope of sound. Yet, amidst the playful synth lines lies a depth of emotion that tugs at the soul, crafting a masterful blend of funk and feels that sets dance floors ablaze.

Warming things up, Fortue makes his debut inside the walls of SASH By Night at Carousel, with Max Power returning to the booth to bring the night to a close, and send us all on our merry way home to bed.

Weaving through sound and piecing together styles throughout the aural journey, ADMNTi has established himself as one of the tastemakers of his generation. FUSE and its offshoot INFUSE, Half Baked and Beeyou are some of the brands he has been known to frequent in the city he calls home. 

His strong London roots have unquestionably influenced his sound and contributed to the driving force behind his output. This impact is particularly present when listening through his back catalogue - containing many well-received releases through the years - which gained the support of many connoisseur’s of the scene including Petre Inspirescu, Fumiya Tanaka, Enzo Siragusa, Raresh and Voigtmann. 

Be it setting the tone in one of his immersive warm-up sets, in full swing at the pinnacle of energy in the night, or creating more forward-thinking music for the dancefloor, his work and input into electronic music is here indefinitely.

This Sunday we welcome him to take on S.A.S.H on both fronts, closing out the day at Watson’s EQ before rolling down the road to take on the dark red booth at Carousel.

Support at By Day comes in the form of our captain, Kerry Wallace, Geezer-ex-pat Adam Holt, and birthday boy Max Panarello. Whilst By Night we’ve squished him between the Northern Beaches pairing of Angus Kyle to warm things up and our own Kemba to bring the night to a close.

As the weather cools down, studio time begins to heat up. Our dear friends from DWAAL have spent a fair amount of time within the warmth of their studios, and have some yummy treats to share with you all…

Our lucrative local label: DWAAL, is steeze certified, and distributes tasteful musical delights. Head honcho Ronald McDonald, I mean Doctavio, has a taste for the happiest of meals, and knows a thing or two about delicious tunes. DWAAL’s previous endeavours are highlighted through their vinyl releases, as they constantly found themselves at the top of the charts. With the current difficulty in vinyl exports, DWAAL have dropped some of the meatiest, quarter poundish, burger bombs via their soundcloud, and have their family box hot on the grill for your ears soon.

Label captain Doctavio enters a food eating contest with like-minded music fanatic: Tyson Bruun, and are set to serve up flame grilled bombs around dinner time. Prodigy’s Ksea & Luca Attanasio go bomb for bomb in the close, as their recent studio work places them at the forefront of Sydney talent. Reflex goes head to toe with Jess Jones, two absolute fishermen in the toona world. Their dedication to the studio is unmatched, as they allow their music to speak for itself. Horton hears a who? It’s Ben & Angus Horton! The beat-down bombers make their way down to EQ for some brotherly love as they open up the courtyard.

As Day concludes, Night arrives, the doors to Carousel open, and the night of dancing can begin. We tick this night off as a win, because WINNY is here, and she means business. Ready to rock out in the booth, WINNY has our amps turned up and her best tunes packed, her unique taste never disappoints so strap in as the clock strikes 12. To close out the night, we’ve brought in our brother from another mother: Logan Baker. Hailing from New Zealand, Logan has an arsenal filled with dance floor weapons that are sure to wreck your ship, so strap in for an evening of pure weaponry. STAN the man has broken in early and set up shop with some sweet UK delights on offer, direct from the hive at 10PM.

The June long weekend is just around the corner and along with it comes a plentiful plethora of perilous performers. We've decided to double down on the celebrations and joined forces with our good pals Waves. Having last got down and dirty together to present SlapFunk in Melbourne, this time we're mixing new school with the (kind of) old school - excuse the language CV.

Voigtmann is a luminary of Berlin's pulsating electronic music scene. He expertly commands attention with his enigmatic presence both behind the decks and within the studio. Known for his genre-defying prowess, Voietmann seamlessly weaves intricate tapestries of sound, effortlessly melding elements of house, techno, and minimal into spellbinding sonic odysseys.

His co-star on this Southern adventure?

A rising star from the true house music mecca of the world - France, Man/ipulate burst onto the scene in 2020, following the global shutdown. Months on end in lockdown allowed many artists the time and space required to really dig deep into their creativity, and Manipulate is a perfect example.
With a production level far exceeding his apparent experience, and a show roster that many couldn't dream of achieving, Manipulate is one of the most exciting up and coming artists of the modern era.

The entrée for the evenings delicacy, Eddie Guy steps smoothly into the warmup, to deliver 2 hours of low-slung, well-hung deep, dirty house music.

Mixmag are absolute pioneers within the music industry, their articles pack a mean punch as they cover the entire spectrum of music & dance culture. ‘The Lab’ series consistently features world renowned acts from around the world, and they present it in the most visually and sonically appealing way. To enter Australia & NZ with a bang, we’ve graciously given up our monstrous main room at Home, for a night you’ll never forget. May we bring to you: Mixmag takeover ft. Mathew Jonson (Live), Traumer, & S.A.S.H residents!

Our usual antics that surround the lucrative long weekends are absolutely still in place, a monster Day session & a mega monster Night session. We’ve enlisted only the finest for this celebration, and due to you already knowing the first two, we’ll deliver the others. We’ve got family the favourite: Voigtmann, and the naughty but nice: Man/ipulate! With a crew like this assembled, this long weekend is out to take the cake. 

Mathew Jonson is a pivotal character within our scene, his work within the walls of a studio is top tier, and we’re lucky enough to experience him bring along his very own studio, and deliver an electric live set. His elusive musical background has enabled him to thrive within the realms of house & techno, which has in turn placed him in the hall of fame as one of the greats. Traumer returns to our shores after his crazy 6 hour set from a couple years back, with a bag that overflows with unreleased originals, edits, remixes; you name it, he’s got it. With such an infectious presence behind the decks, his ability has taken him all around the world and performed on the biggest stages there are. Little needs to be said about Voigtmann, if there’s a problem in the dance floor, he’ll fix it. His ability to genre-swing mid set and provide whatever is needed is the reason people love him, and exactly why you will too if you already don’t. Man/ipulate speaks for themself, much like Voigtmann, as they can manipulate the dancefloor into whatever vibe suits, and with a growing collection of music, Man/ipulate is a absolutely a force to be reckoned with. We are so pleased to have an enormous crew together and cannot wait for them to wreck dance floor havoc!

Our S.A.S.H By Day session take’s place in the Forecourt, a gigantic open air love affair catered to all things house. We love it, you love it, so of course we’re heading back for  another day of fun. Because it’s time for us to celebrate again, we have no choice but to take things back to the fortress that is: HOME. We’ll fill it top to bottom, head to toe, back to front and left to right, all to ensure we have the most memorable night! Home is most definitely where the heart is, and we’ve got a lot of love for this stomping ground.

Bring your friends, call your mum and tell her you won’t be home for dinner. It’s party time.
